Ronaldo’s Man United return plan Changed as Erik ten Hag changes His Expectations as well??
These are your Manchester United morning headlines for Saturday, July 23.
Erik ten Hag has changed his stance on Donny van de Beek at Manchester United
Towards the end of his unveiling at Old Trafford in May, Erik ten Hag was asked by a Dutch journalist about his reunion with Donny van de Beek at United.
“We had a fantastic squad in that time at Ajax, I had a really good relationship with him and I’m looking forward to meeting him again on the pitch,” he said.
This was a day after Van de Beek’s disappointing loan spell at Everton had ended, but while his United career had been a two-year nightmare so far, there was an expectation that the arrival of a familiar face in Ten Hag would bring a change in fortunes.
United manager Ten Hag was unable to provide a return date to training for Cristiano Ronaldo but clarified he would be “integrated” back into the squad.
Ronaldo has not reported for pre-season training due to a family issue and has missed the entirety of United’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia.
United return to Manchester next week and face Atletico Madrid in Oslo on July 30 and Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford the following day but it is unclear if Ronaldo will be available for selection.
