Chelsea are set to submit an offer for United ‘target’ Denzel Dumfries – according to reports.

Dumfries, 26, could be allowed to leave Inter Milan this summer 12 months after joining the club.

United have been heavily linked with him due to his Eredivisie grounding.

Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport suggest Chelsea are set to launch the first approach for his services, though, but the west Londoners are not thought to be prepared to pay his £34m asking price. That could open the door to United.

Eriksen explains Ten Hag role in move

United made Eriksen their second signing this summer when they snapped-up the in-demand playmaker on a free transfer. Reports in France suggest United want to sign Benoit Badiashile from AS Monaco.

United are still in the market for another defensive recruit after Argentina centre-back Lisandro Martinez followed newly-appointed manager Erik ten Hag to Old Trafford from Amsterdam.

Badiashile, 21, first emerged on the radar two seasons ago and L’Equipe credit United with reviving that interest, but would-be suitors will have to pay around £42million for his services. Several clubs are thought to be queuing up for his signature. Chelsea, Sevilla and Barcelona are among those linked.

United offered fresh hope in Antony pursuit

United have been offered hope in their quest to sign Ajax forward Antony this summer.

Antony, 22, was picked out as a target for Erik ten Hag after the manager swapped Amsterdam for Old Trafford, and the Dutchman has already managed to do business with his now-former employers.

Here is what Ajax technical manager Gerry Hamstra told Voetbal International;

I assume that no-one leaves this core anymore. You can never say never and I have learned that by now. But we also talk about it with the players and have conversations, also the boys who may have a wish to leave. Ajax players are drawn, that is logical.
