Latest Manchester United transfer news Live!

No sooner had Lisandro Martinez been announced by Manchester United as their latest signing, he was lining up for his new club on the pitch for the first time.

The defender featured in Wednesday’s behind-closed-doors friendly win against Wrexham, in which fellow summer recruit Christian Eriksen netted a free kick. Also present was Cristiano Ronaldo, who was watching on from the sidelines.

The 37-year-old held talks with Erik ten Hag on Tuesday, with agent Jorge Mendes also present. The results of those talks are unclear but as things stand, the player still wishes to leave the club.

Ten Hag has remained insistent that he remains part of his plans, towing the club’s line that he is not for sale. That said, the new United manager is still keen to bring in an attacking reinforcement before the window closes.
